Shannon Nix is a multi-disciplinary artist known for bold, figurative paintings and multi media experiences centered around themes of identity and liberation.

 

Born and raised in the heart of Southern California and residing now in Long Beach, Nix observes, “There is no question that water brings energy and life. No coincidence that how we use our energy is in direct correlation with water and the hustle culture it takes to live near it.” How we use and manage our energy systems has become a lifelong fascination for Nix, leading to the study of more esoteric systems, i.e. light, sound, color, motion, prana, meridians, chakras, etc. 

 

“"Growing up an only child didn't leave me lonely it left me curious," says the artist with a gentle smile. The subtle energetics of seen vs. unseen and perceptions of self-worth within that dynamic is a force in every piece she creates.  Her Inspiration comes from exploring depth of consciousness, physiology and how our belief system shapes our cadence into creative power. Press that against cruelty or injustice and “the rebel artist takes over the introvert every time”, Nix says.

 

After receiving her MFA from CSUF/2003, the next two decades were spent focused on three major milestones: raising her gentleman son, teaching art, and cultivating an experiential art business (Art Farm Studios/2008-2019) serving her local & LA Community. 

 

For over 28 years, Nix has contributed to the art world by bridging meaningful concepts with visual storytelling. Her paintings are enjoyed by private and international collectors.
